This page is here to honor and remember each special member of our family who is no longer with us. They have each been such a special part of our life and left their mark. Thank you for reading this page and taking the time to see who they each were. They will be forever loved and missed.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
As I see the Gates of Heaven
And I know I'm headed home
I see the great St. Peter
But alas, he's not alone.
The tears have blurred my vision
But I'd know her anywhere
She sits and waits so patiently
She knows I'll soon be there.
I drop to my knees and call her name
She responds with bounding glee
She whines and she cries
The joy is in her eyes
She's waited so patiently.
I know it's truly Heaven
For that is plain to see
My faithful friend and campanion
Is once again with me.
Our very first boxer was Baxter. We got him when our oldest son, Corey, was 2 years old. He was such a very special part of our family and he was the one who taught us how special this breed really is! He and Corey became best friends right after he stopped nipping holes in his diaper :) When Baxter was 1 1/2 he came down with a rare disease and passed away when he was 2. It was a very difficult loss because, as any boxer owner can tell you, they become an active family member just like one of your children. It was hardest on Corey who was now 4. Explaining death is hard at any age but at 4 it can be very confusing. At night we'd take him outside and tell him to pick the brightest star in heaven and that was Baxter watching over him. He'd go out at night and tell him all about his day and we'd choke back the tears. As the years have gone by he's always held a special place in out hearts and in the sky and so came the name Starr Boxers because had in not been for Baxter we wouldn't have started on the path that we're on now.
Picture coming soon!
Duncan......Oh where to begin! I write this with a broken heart and I think it will always be that way. He was the rock of our household. He was the best companion we could ask for. A family member and friend, our child, our clown, a protector and as I said before our rock. He could make you laugh, cheer you up and keep you company like no one else. He would protect our family with his life and turn around and let the puppies hang off his lips and not even grumble. The day we brought him home he pranced around with his tail straight in the air carrying his newspaper where ever he wanted just like he owned the house. He had a presence that filled the room. There aren't enough words to describe what he ment to our family. Duncan was never shown or bred, he was just one of the family. He taught us everything that a boxer is! He lived to be 9 1/2 years old and passed away in my arms in spring of 2006. He will be forever missed. The day another male comes into our lives he will have some very big paw prints to fill.

Sable was our first female and what a sweetheart she was!! She was such a pleasure to have. Always happy and full of energy. She came into our family and quickly became attached to Duncan. Sometimes I think she was more his then ours!! They were such a pair that their names seemed to be one! She gave us the first two litters of puppies in our house and she and I learned together. I remember her first puppy, after she had it she picked it up and put it in my lap and then tried to curl up with the both of us. She will always bring a smile to my face because when I remember her I remember her always happy. It makes me smile to think of Duncan and Sable together where ever they are now!
